The Stay Woke Shirt became popular after owner and CEO of Twitter Elon Musk shared a video of it on Twitter along with the caption “found in closet at Twitter HQ fr” on November 23. In his post, Musk didn’t forget to add two laughing emojis to the message, which clearly shows the mockery. The shirt quickly caused a stir among the public with the quote on it.
The phrase “stay woke” means you should be aware of reality, look at everything deeply and think twice because things can change just in a second. But “stay woke” is also a common term used in racial movements. This is known as an American slang term that calls everyone to “be aware of some issues causing troubles in America”, typically racism against Black people and poverty. With the post featuring Stay Woke Shirt, Musk aimed to mock the previous efforts of the company in order to support the Black Lives Matter movement.

Shipping and expedited manufacturing ($14.95+) (U.S. Only)
- Orders using this option jump to the front of the manufacturing queue which can generally save a couple days (or more during busier times of the year).
- It's highly recommended to use this option if you are ordering for a specific event or holiday.
- Orders using this option generally arrive 2-3 days after being manufactured and shipped. (U.S. only)
