The t-shirt features the saying “Seth Dillon (@SelthDillon) is involved in child trafficking” in which @SelthDillon is the X account of Seth Dillon, the CEO of The Babylon Bee.
The phrase on the shirt reminds us of Seth Dillon Human Trafficking and Pedophilia Slander which includes a wide range of posts on X about Seth Dillon being falsely regarded as a human trafficker, pedophile, and rapist.
The defamatory posts targeting Dillon started in August 2023 after the Babylon Bee owner shared a quote retweet about a young Mississippi girl who couldn’t get an abortion after being raped.
To be more specific, on August 16, 2023, Seth Dillon quoted on X a New York Post article with the heading “Mississippi girl, 13, gives birth after being raped, unable to get an abortion.” He added the remark “She could always dress him in a’should have been aborted’ onesie so no one ever mistakenly thinks he’s wanted” along with the retweet.
The caption was then deleted by Dillon, but it was screenshotted and reposted. There have been several replies that criticize him, the most noticeable one writes “Mocking a girl who was raped and forced to birth her rapist’s child seems very un-Christian of you”. A noticeable trolling statement is a retweet on X of a New York Post post mentioning “Missing 12-year-old girl believed to be staying with ‘much older’ man”, saying the man who has her under his control is @SethDillon”.
Midway through August 2023, the trolling posts about Dillon were still spreading. For instance, X user @JUNlPER had over 15,800 likes on a post about Dillon being a trafficker on August 17th. On August 18, Dillon posted a screenshot of @JUNlPER’s postings in response, expressing his ire, and it received more than 560 likes in just two hours.
