Joe Montana was the 49ers’ star quarterback during their rise in the 1980s. He helped San Francisco win four Super Bowls and is one of the most important players in the franchise’s history. His No. 16 jersey is retired by the 49ers. Dwight Clark was the wide receiver who played alongside Montana from 1979–1987 and whose No. 87 was also retired.
