Omar Fateh Import It Become It Let Me Tell You How To Run Your Country T Shirt refers to a politically charged, anti-immigrant statement targeting Omar Fateh, a democratic socialist and Somali-American Minnesota State Senator who ran for Mayor of Minneapolis.

Omar Fateh Import It Become It Let Me Tell You How To Run Your Country T Shirt Meaning

Omar Fateh
Omar Fateh

The phrase “Import It, Become It, Let Me Tell You How To Run Your Country” emerged during Fateh’s mayoral campaign, which drew intense national media scrutiny. Conservative political groups heavily criticized his platform, often generating memes to portray him as an outsider who shouldn’t be dictating local or national policies.

The slogan sarcastically criticizes Omar Fateh’s Somali immigrant background, his rise in American politics, and his progressive policy proposals. It reflects opponents’ concerns that he wants to reshape Minneapolis through changes to wages, rent, policing, and immigration policies.

Despite the fact that Fateh was born in Washington, D.C., and is a U.S. citizen, the Omar Fateh Import It Become It Let Me Tell You How To Run Your Country T Shirt targets his identity as a child of Somali immigrants to dismiss his progressive policies.
