How did the United States change during Barack Obama’s Presidency?

Barack Obama, in full Barack Hussein Obama II, used to serve as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. He was the first African-American president of the U.S. 

When it comes to Barack Obama, people will recall the slowest economic recovery since the Great Recession. The economy hit a record-high number of unfilled jobs, and the government discouraged people from returning to work. 

It pushed for extensions of additional unemployment insurance and ordered the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to continue a “temporary” halt on evictions. It raised the child tax credit, which sends cash each month to tens of millions of U.S. households. It has extended student-loan ban, initially fixed to expire in September, until January 2022 and is even mulling the cancellation of student debt.

These efforts may have been feasible to some extent in the early days of the pandemic, but the longer they drag on, the more they undermine efforts to get the economy back on track. People who aren’t anxious about being evicted or paying off student loans clearly have less incentive to go back to work, even when jobs are plentiful. 

And employers who can’t offer wages competitive with state subsidies will have a hard time finding workers. People are not getting jobs mainly because the government has paved the way for them to be unemployed.

Under Obama, unemployment insurance was prolonged for up to 99 weeks in many states, approximately four times compared to the normal rate. Work requirements for food stamps were waived even for adults who are in good health and have no dependents. Medicaid was expanded and subsidies are offered to purchase private health insurance plans.

Joe Biden is just Barack Obama’s third term

Apparently, Biden policies or Obama policies are largely the same, at least when it comes to foreign policy. 

Biden has shown that he will reverse Trump’s policies of withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal and pulling out from the United Nations Human Rights Council, one of the most biased, anti-Israel organizations in the entire United Nations system.

Many of these steps announce a return to the bad old days when Israel was ruled by Obama for eight years.

Of course, none of this is surprising given the fact that Biden was right next to Obama as his staunch vice president. But it’s still disappointing and unsettling.

President Joe Biden applies many of the same regulatory policies that have worked well during his eight multi-year terms before President Donald Trump.

One of the highlights of the Obama administration was its strong alliance with major labor unions, which led to the granting of many items on the unions’ wishlists during Biden’s time as Vice President.

President Joe Biden said that “Our mission in Afghanistan was never supposed to have been nation building. It was never supposed to be creating a unified, centralized democracy.”

But in 2003, according to Politico, he claimed the “alternative to nation building is chaos, a chaos that churns out bloodthirsty warlords, drug traffickers and terrorists”.

On August 19 he said that “if there are American citizens left” after the 31 August withdrawal deadline, then “we’re going to stay until we get them all out”.

But what’s the truth? It’s estimated that up to 200 American citizens were abandoned after the withdrawal of the last US soldiers from Afghanistan. 

Biden has made the Taliban come back to destabilize a country in which the United States has strategic interests. A prominent anti-China ally, India, is at greater risk of terrorist attacks from across the lawless Afghanistan border.

Biden has turned Afghanistan to be a place of horror where the seeds of death and terrorism.  His hands are now covered full of blood.
