“Merciless Indian Savages” Origin And Meaning
On July 4th, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was ratified. We Americans are all too familiar with the line from the Declaration of Independence that reads, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal” but the lines below refer to Native Americans as “merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions”
We all know that Native Americans were the original inhabitants and stewards of this land. It is obvious that the phrase “all men are created equal” does not apply to Native Americans, who were unmistakably regarded as less than human by the founding fathers of the United States of America.
The roots of injustice in the United States of America are written for the entire world to read: Merciless Indian Savages. The truth is that the United States only exists because Indigenous peoples were conquered by degrading, looting, enslaving, and committing mass cultural genocide. The flag we respect today was really seen by many as a struggle, death, and destruction of the spiritual and traditional American Indian way of life with the founding of the United States of America.
As you light your fireworks and celebrate this federal holiday, let us remember the Indigenous people of this land who bore the wrath of what this federal holiday represents. Let us honor the Merciless Indian Savages!

- Manufacturing times for this option vary more around busier times of the year or during extreme circumstances such as covid-19 shutdowns.
- International & EU Orders*: It may take additional days if orders have to go through customs. We have no influence on the customs process and our apologies for any inconvenience due to delivery delays resulting from this.
Shipping and expedited manufacturing ($14.95+) (U.S. Only)
- Orders using this option jump to the front of the manufacturing queue which can generally save a couple days (or more during busier times of the year).
- It's highly recommended to use this option if you are ordering for a specific event or holiday.
- Orders using this option generally arrive 2-3 days after being manufactured and shipped. (U.S. only)
- Orders using expedited manufacturing will be printed when the next batch of orders are processed which can vary depending on seasonality and other factors.
