What Does Meowdy Mean?

Meowdy is a popular online meme that features image macros of cats wearing cowboy hats with the message “Meowdy,” which is a combination of the terms “meow” and “howdy.” This term is also used to call Texas cat with a cute and a bit cool appearance.

What’s the origin of Meowdy?

While the actual origins of the trend are unknown, “Meowdy” first appeared on meme sites in 2017. Milkychan produced a YouTube video titled MEOWDY-DO on February 7th, 2018, featuring the feline Palicos making food in the video game Monster Hunter: World while singing “Meowdy-do.”

How did Meowdy spread?

On October 22nd, 2018, an account uploaded an early picture macro meme portraying a cat in a hat with the caption “Meowdy.”

In January 2019, “Meowdy” memes began to expand to other subreddits and on June 29th, 2019, Urban Dictionary published the first definition of the term. Then, “Meowdy” became a popular meme, appearing on shirts, pins, and stickers, as well as on social media posts.

Shipping and expedited manufacturing ($14.95+) (U.S. Only)

  • Orders using this option jump to the front of the manufacturing queue which can generally save a couple days (or more during busier times of the year).
  • It's highly recommended to use this option if you are ordering for a specific event or holiday.
  • Orders using this option generally arrive 2-3 days after being manufactured and shipped. (U.S. only)
  • Orders using expedited manufacturing will be printed when the next batch of orders are processed which can vary depending on seasonality and other factors.
