“Insurrection T Shirt” Origin
On Thursday, Capitol Police officer Harry Dunn wore a shirt with meanings of the word “insurgency” while attending the first June public session held by the House select committee examining the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol incident.
The first definition on Dunn’s shirt said “a violent uprising against an authority or government.” A second, attributed to Dunn himself, said “instead of accepting the results of the 2020 election, many attempted to change the results through an insurrection on 1/6/2021.
On the day of the incident, Dunn was at the Capitol as a crowd of Trump supporters attempted to prevent Congress from declaring the 2020 presidential election results. In July of last year, the Capitol Police officer testified during the panel’s first official session.
