Will Trump run in 2024? Will he or won’t he?
That’s the question many want to know for former President Donald Trump, who has hinted that he will run for president again in 2024 without definitively announcing whether he will definitely join.
At his first rally since leaving the White House, former US President Donald Trump hinted that he will run for re-election in 2024 and possibly win.
On June 26, former President Trump rallied with thousands of supporters in Wellington, Ohio, marking his return to large-scale rallies since he left the White House in January. , according to USA TODAY.
Dubbed “the very first rally of the 2022 election,” Trump predicted next year’s midterm rallies would yield a big win for Republicans in both chambers.
“We’re going to take back the House, and we’re going to take back the Senate,” Trump promised the crowd at the rally. “We have no choice,” he added.
Trump’s rally shows he has no intention of giving up politics anytime soon. “Our movement is far from over,” he said. “In fact, our fight has only just begun”
Although he made no announcements about his own plans, Trump hinted that he could make another run for the White House in 2024. Claiming that he has been elected president twice, he said, “It’s possible we’ll have to win it a third time”. Trump won the 2016 election, and in the new rally, Mr. Trump repeated his claim that his defeat in the 2020 election was due to election fraud.
Trump’s political action committee said the rally in Ohio was the first of many of his public appearances to support Republican candidates running for congressional office.
Meanwhile, political analysts say rallies like these are designed to give former President Trump an opportunity to cement his position as the leader of the Republican party and promote his conspiracy theories. about the 2020 election, according to USA TODAY.
Donald Trump I’ll Be Back – Will Trump Run Again In 2024?
Trump has broached the idea of running for president before without following through, and we are still more than a year away from the Republican presidential primaries. So a lot can change between now and then. However, Trump seems to be preparing well for the next election.
People who talk to Trump say he’s running for re-election
Trump’s campaign adviser, Jason Miller, told Cheddar News last Thursday that the chances of Trump running again are “somewhere between 99, 100%”
Miller said: “I think he is definitely running in 2024. I had a good conversation with him last night. I’m going to go see him in another couple days here”.
Then, in a secret video obtained by online political program Undercurrent and posted on Twitter Friday, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, expressed the same view. “I know so [that Trump is going to run again]. I talked to him yesterday. He’s about ready to announce after all of this craziness in Afghanistan.”
Trump is planning to visit Iowa
Trump signaled his intention to go to Iowa with conservative talk radio host Todd Starnes that he is planning upcoming rallies in states including Georgia and Iowa. The Des Moines Register reported the next day that Trump would hold a rally on October 9 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, his first visit to the state since the 2020 campaign.
Additionally, Save America, Trump’s Political Action Committee, has also moved in Lowa, hiring two Republican operatives last month. Having a strong activity in place for the first caucus could be crucial if Trump wants to win big right out of the gate. He finished second in Iowa in 2016 against Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
Trump launch new national faith advisory board
Former Trump administration officials have formed a national faith advisory board to continue their work outside the White House, and Trump has blessed his team, called to join a conference call announcing the board last Thursday.
On the call, Trump criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of religious issues and talked about actions he took upon taking office that are popular with Protestants, such as officially publicizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
“One of my greatest honors was fighting for religious liberty and for defending the Judeo-Christian values and principles of our nation’s founding,” Trump said according to Religion News Service.
Trump has raised tons of money
In the first half of 2021, Trump has raised tons of money. He brought in millions of dollars through his three political committees. According to Federal Election Commission filings, as of June 30, Trump had about $102 million in cash in three political committees: Save America PAC, Make America Great Again PAC, and Trump Make America Great Again Committee.
The amount raised for a former president is unprecedented and is supported by an aggressive digital, text, and email advertising campaign targeting Trump supporters.
Most Republicans want Trump to be President again
As Donald Trump potentially prepares to launch a presidential run in 2024, a new CNN/SSRS poll shows that while a majority of Republicans want the former president to lead the GOP, they are split equally on whether having him at the top of the ticket helps the party retake the White House.
The poll, conducted with 2,119 US adults, found that 63% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents believe Trump should lead the party, compared with 37% who say he shouldn’t.
Trump is a major fundraiser among Republicans
In March, Trump’s lawyers sent cease-and-desist notices to the Republican National Committee and Republican House and Senate campaign groups, asking them to stop using Trump’s name and image in their fundraising efforts. But, they didn’t stop. And, as a result, Trump still appears in digital ads, emails, and party-sold merchandise.
Midterm elections have become an important proof-of-concept for incoming presidential candidates because they are able to raise funds and campaign for congressional candidates and be in front of voters.
Trump did it without even trying. His name and likability are helping fund his party’s efforts to win back Congress in 2022, although he has asked them not to. It demonstrates how Trump can get off to a head start if he’s seriously campaigning for the Republican party next year.
