Gary Plauche was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the United States. On March 16, 1984, Gary Plauche shot and killed Jeff Doucet, a man who had kidnapped and sexually abused his son, Jody Plauche. The incident occurred at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport and it was all caught on camera by a local news crew, as Doucet was being led through the airport by law enforcement officers after his capture.
Gary Plauche’s son – Jody was 11 when he was abducted and abused by pedophile Jeff Doucet. About the abuser, Jeff Doucet is a karate instructor. He kidnapped Jody and brought him to California where he abused the boy in a motel in March 1984.
Gary Plauche’s actions, captured on video, raised complicated legal and ethical questions about self-defense, and the protection of children. Plauche pleaded “no contest” to manslaughter charges and was given a seven-year suspended sentence, five years of probation, 300 hours of community service, and no prison time for the fatal shot. The case generated a lot of debate and media attention at that time.
