Hardware City Rock Cats T Shirt is a vintage-style Minor League Baseball shirt connected to the former Hardware City Rock Cats, a Double-A baseball team from New Britain. The team existed under that exact name from 1995–1996 before later becoming the New Britain Rock Cats.
Hardware City Rock Cats T Shirt Meaning
The phrase “Hardware City” comes from New Britain’s longtime nickname. The city was famous for manufacturing and hardware industries, especially companies like Stanley Black & Decker, so locals called it “The Hardware City.”
The “Rock Cats” part was designed to give the team a fun 1950s rock-and-roll identity. The mascot “Rocky” was a cool, guitar-playing cat with leather-jacket greaser vibes, inspired by classic rockabilly culture. The original logo and character were created by cartoonist Guy Gilchrist, who said the character represented the gritty, blue-collar spirit of the town.

- International & EU Orders*: It may take additional days if orders have to go through customs. We have no influence on the customs process and our apologies for any inconvenience due to delivery delays resulting from this.
Shipping and expedited manufacturing ($14.95+) (U.S. Only)
- Orders using this option jump to the front of the manufacturing queue which can generally save a couple days (or more during busier times of the year).
- It's highly recommended to use this option if you are ordering for a specific event or holiday.
- Orders using this option generally arrive 2-3 days after being manufactured and shipped. (U.S. only)
- Orders using expedited manufacturing will be printed when the next batch of orders are processed which can vary depending on seasonality and other factors.
