Guardians of the Galaxy 3: Lylla, Rocket, Floor and Teefs explained
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 has been released in theaters, introducing three new creatures from Rocket’s past: Lylla, Teefs, and Floor. Our review called it “one of the best MCU movies” and praised Rocket’s emotional backstory.
Rocket is a genetically engineered raccoon with metal implants and scars, but his past has remained a mystery until now. In the film, Rocket and his new friends, Lylla the Otter (voiced by Linda Cardellini), Teefs the Walrus (played by Asim Chaudhry), and Floor the Rabbit (voiced by Mikaela Hoover) are captured and modified by the High Evolutionary, becoming close friends while locked in a cage.
Each of the characters has unique modifications, with Lylla having metal arms, Teefs having wheels, and Floor having multiple mechanical limbs. They play together, dream about the sky, and comfort each other until the High Evolutionary plans to “incinerate” them.
Rocket escapes, but in a shocking scene, the villain kills all of his friends. In the comics, Lylla is Rocket’s soulmate and heiress to a toymaking empire on Halfworld after her parents’ murder. Teefs is a nod to Wal Rus, who assists Rocket on his adventures, and Floor is believed to be inspired by Blackjack O’Hare, a rabbit mercenary who opposes Rocket.
