This t-shirt highlights the Blue Devils’ incredible 2025 season with bold “ACC Football Championship Game” lettering, Duke’s iconic helmet, and the year 2025 — commemorating Duke’s first ACC football championship win in program history.
On December 6, 2025, Duke defeated No. 16 Virginia 27–20 in overtime at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Despite entering the game with a modest 7–5 overall record, Duke’s strong 6–2 conference performance — and a complex series of tiebreakers — sent them to the championship stage. From there, they made history.
Duke controlled much of the game, leading 20–10 late in the fourth quarter before Virginia mounted a furious comeback, tying the score with an 18-yard touchdown pass with just 22 seconds left. The Blue Devils stayed composed, sending the matchup into overtime.
In OT, Duke delivered the defining moment of the season:
— A fourth-and-goal touchdown pass from Darian Mensah
— Followed by a game-ending interception by linebacker Luke Mergott on Virginia’s first overtime play
With that interception, Duke secured the 2025 ACC Championship — a milestone achievement for a program that had not been favored to win and had never before captured the ACC title.
