The t-shirt depicts the image of some snacks and the phrase “Come And Take It Food Dyes”. “Come and Take It” was a defiant slogan from the 1835 Battle of Gonzales during the Texas Revolution. Texan settlers used it to resist Mexican forces attempting to reclaim a cannon, symbolizing a stand against oppression and a fight for autonomy. ​
In the context of the shirt, the slogan is humorously applied to artificial food dyes, which are often scrutinized for potential health risks. By juxtaposing the historic phrase with food dyes, the shirt satirically portrays the defense of these additives as a matter of personal freedom and resistance to regulation.​
​On April 22, 2025, U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), announced a significant initiative to phase out petroleum-based synthetic food dyes from the nation’s food supply by the end of 2026. This move targets eight artificial dyes, including Red 3 and 40, Blue 1 and 2, Yellow 5 and 6, Green 3, Citrus Red No. 2, and Orange B, commonly found in candies, cereals, and baked goods.

Shipping and expedited manufacturing ($14.95+) (U.S. Only)
- Orders using this option jump to the front of the manufacturing queue which can generally save a couple days (or more during busier times of the year).
