The shirt references the Bears’ September 28, 2026 Monday Night Football game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chicago’s starting quarterback Caleb Williams was unavailable because of a hamstring injury, while backup Tyson Bagent was also unavailable after entering concussion protocol. That resulted in veteran quarterback Case Keenum, the Bears’ third-string quarterback, making his first NFL appearance since 2023.
Keenum unexpectedly delivered a memorable performance. He completed 24 of 34 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for a touchdown, helping Chicago defeat Philadelphia 27–7. It was particularly notable because Keenum had gone 1,009 days without appearing in an NFL regular-season game.
The phrase “Case Closed” is a pun on Case Keenum’s first name, “Case.” It means that Keenum had effectively “closed the case” by answering the question of whether the veteran quarterback could still perform at a high level.
