Biden Driving Tax For Every Mile We Drive

A mileage tax, Biden driver tax, or mileage charge, would charge drivers based on the number of miles they drive. In a simple way, if you drive a vehicle, you would have to pay the government for every mile you drive. The time period may vary, but typically the mileage is charged over a one-year period.  A vehicle mileage traveled fee can be used to increase revenue for transportation and infrastructure projects.

Pete Buttigieg recommends taxing drivers by the mile to pay for the infrastructure bill

What do you think of Biden driving tax?

President Joe Biden’s push to increase the use of electric cars may accidentally get in the way of his other pressing priority: restoring the nation’s roads, bridges, and transportation by cutting federal gasoline tax receipts.

That has prompted US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to seriously consider an idea that has faced stiff opposition from privacy advocates and others: funding highway projects with a fee based on the number of miles a person travels rather than the amount of gas they pump.

“When you think about infrastructure, it’s a classic example of the kind of investment that has a return on that investment,” he replied. “That’s one of many reasons why we think this is so important. This is a jobs vision as much as it is an infrastructure vision, a climate vision and more.”

Buttigieg also considered some potential revenue-generating options to fund the project. He spoke amusedly about a millage levy, which would tax travelers based on the distance of the journey rather than on the amount of gas they consume.

“A so-called vehicle-miles-traveled tax or mileage tax, whatever you want to call it, could be a way to do it,” he added.

Democrats have turned the gasoline tax in favor of a mile tax among a simultaneous, climate-friendly effort to encourage consumers to drive electric cars.

“I’m hearing a lot of appetite to make sure that there are sustainable funding streams,” Buttigieg said. A mileage tax “shows a lot of promise if we believe in that so-called user-pays principle: The idea that part of how we pay for roads is you pay based on how much you drive.”

President Joe Biden said during his first solo press conference on Thursday that he will declare the $3 trillion proposals during a trip to Pittsburgh.

In the first press conference of his presidency, President Joe Biden announced rebuilding the physical and technological infrastructure of the United States was his next priority, not just important to efforts to revive the economy but also to maintain competitiveness with rivals such as China.

Joe Biden driving tax- Is it a great idea?

President Joe Biden and  Secretary Pete Buttigieg consider whether to tax you for every mile that you drive. Now, your personnel vehicle will be like a taxi, with the meter running all the time. They will calculate the miles you drive and charge you accordingly.

This is coupled with the possibility of a petrol tax increase.

So they’ll fix the roads and bridges, then tax you to use every inch of them. After all, you’re wearing out that infrastructure every time you drive.

Do you think that Biden driving tax is a good idea? Think of how unfair this is to those who live in rural or sparsely populated areas and have to drive upon miles just to get to the supermarket or basic business.

It also poses a great paradox. Because obviously Buttigieg and other Democrats don’t just want to tax motorists, they want to get them off the road completely.

Buttigieg said as much a few weeks ago that roads weren’t just for cars but for people.

There is a lot of this sentiment in New York City, where former calls for motorists to “share the road” with pedestrians and cyclists have now become a ban complete car drivers.

Mayor Bill de Blasio told New Yorkers last August not to buy a car. Cars are the past, the mayor announced. The future is public transit, cycling, and hiking.

But where will all the tax revenue come from to pay for public transport if you drive your car off the road? Some of that transit cost also comes from gasoline taxes.

There’s nowhere to drive our cars. Only in the United States. Do you agree with Biden driving tax? If you don’t support Biden driver tax, show your opinion. Here are some great political t-shirts that can help express your view and spread your messages.
